Project 3.5 -> Digital fabrication & Construction

Study on utilizing digital tools and resources to create abstract forms and models. Emphasizing the process, precision, and hands on construction.

REFLECTION

This project was assigned with the intention of developing our abilities to work within the digital space and also with the tools at our disposal. With a combination of 3D-Printing and laser cutting me and my partner Ava Cheeks created this tension suspended form, supported by the tension of wires in the center and balanced by wires on one side. Two large 1.5 x1.5 x 4 inch 3D joints are the dominant form of the piece with the laser cut wood being subdominant and two more printed joints being submissive forms.
